Bay Medical group are recruiting for a Medicine Management Team Leader. In this role the successful candidate will work closely with the MMT Operational Manager to provide day to day oversight and running of the MMT. The post holder will be responsible for supporting efficient and comprehensive management provision ensuring that areas identified as potential risk to service continuation are reported to the MMT Operational Manager.

This is a fixed term role to cover maternity leave.

The working hours for the role will be 20 hours per week.

The working pattern for the role will be: 8am until 1pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Location for this role will be split between Heysham Primary Care Centre and York Bridge Surgery.

Interview date: Week Commencing 25th August 2025.


Main duties of the job

To be an active member of the Practice Team ofManagers and manage delegated tasks for the day to day running of MMT.

Tobe responsible for ensuring that HR administration is complete; to includesickness recording, return to work interviews.

Toeffectively manage annual leave and staff rota ensuring that services aremaintained safely and within minimum operating levels.

SupportMMT Operational Manager with line management of MMT including performancemanagement and monitoring, training, disciplinary matters, updatingcontracts/job descriptions.

Managethe appraisals and 6 month reviews for the Medicine management officersand senior medicine management officers.

Toarrange team meetings and take minutes; ensure attendees are notified andinvites sent.

Recordovertime accurately and in a timely manner for Finance to action.

Beinvolved in scheduling induction with MMT for new starters.

EnsureMMT are up to date with mandatory training.

Collateand monitor workload statistics, taking action where required to ensureagreed targets set out in the BMG Business Plan are being met.

Toundertake appropriate tasks as delegated by the Operational Manager

Involvementin recruitment of staff with Operational Manager.

To act as a role model for staff and whereappropriate undertake wellbeing conversations.

Report in a timely manner significant potential andactual challenges to MMT Operational Manager promoting a problem-solvingapproach.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* Recognised qualification (certificate or above) in management or equivalent level or knowledge gained through experience.
* GCSE Maths
* NVQ or supervisory/ Management experience.


Experience

* Patient or customer facing service experience.
* Experience in line managing staff and supervision.
* Managed in a changing environment.
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Management experience (preferably in primary care)
* Experience of implementing policies and protocols Knowledge of MMT


Skills

* Ability to prioritise and work in fast paced environment.
* Confident working with people face-to-face and over the telephone.
* Ability to lead and motivate a team.
* Capable of managing/ liaising within a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to work with clinicians and senior managers.
* Numerate and IT literate (capable of producing own reports/ documents/ presentations etc. as appropriate).
* Able to forward plan and schedule work for self and others.
* Able to work within agreed parameters.
* Strong organisational skills
* Knowledge and experience of NHS/GP procedures and policies.
* Knowledge and experience of EMIS


Characteristics

* Physically able to undertake the role.
* Presentable and tidy appearance.

£27,590 a year(pro rata based on 37.5 hours per week).
