About the role
We are looking for an ambitious finance professional to join our team in the position of Assistant Financial Controller. You will work collaboratively with the Finance Director and Assistant Finance Manager to support strategic financial initiatives whilst ensuring effective day to day operations within the finance function.

In this role, you will:
* work collaboratively with the Finance Director and leadership team to support strategic financial initiatives and business growth.
* support the effective day‑to‑day operation of the finance function.
* assist in producing accurate and timely management accounts and financial reporting.
* use financial analysis to identify trends, areas for improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.
* support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
* ensure financial records and reporting are maintained accurately and in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
* assist in maintaining effective internal controls to protect the assets of the business.
* support the Finance Director with audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements.
* provide financial support and guidance to departmental managers where required.
* duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time to ensure the overall goals and deadlines of the company are met.
To be suitable for this role you will:
* be a qualified or part‐qualified accountant studying towards ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent
* have previous experience in a finance or management accounting role
* demonstrate experience of using and developing accounting systems including payroll and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
* possess strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards
* be a confident communicator, able to work well with non finance specialists within the wider management team
* have some knowledge of the hospitality industry including revenue management and cost control would be an advantage
* be able to re‑locate to the Isle of Arran or commit to travelling to the resort a minimum of 2 days per week.
* have the permanent right to work in the UK (unfortunately we cannot offer sponsorship)
Short term live in accommodation would be available on request and overnight accommodation would be provided in our staff accommodation when visiting site if required.
