Procurement Manager

Location: Liverpool (Hybrid – Work from Home Wednesdays & Fridays)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible start/finish times)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead purchasing, materials planning, and goods‑in operations within a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment. This hands‑on, strategic role combines supplier management, MRP control, and team leadership to ensure materials are sourced, received, and supplied efficiently to meet project deadlines and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead all procurement and purchasing activities across bespoke and standard engineering projects.
* Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost‑effectiveness, and timely delivery.
* Oversee MRP planning and materials scheduling using Sage 200, ensuring accurate stock and order management.
* Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to achieve commercial and operational objectives.
* Manage the goods‑in function, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and GMP standards.
* Monitor inventory levels, stock accuracy, and traceability while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement and goods‑in team to achieve performance and efficiency goals.

Required Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Strong negotiation, supplier management, and communication skills.
* Working knowledge of MRP systems (Sage 200 preferred) and inventory control processes.
* Excellent attention to detail with a proactive, hands‑on approach.
* Understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and GMP is advantageous.

Hybrid Working & Hours

* Hybrid: Work from home Wednesdays and Fridays.
* Flexible hours: Start between 7:30–9:30am and finish between 4:00–5:30pm.
* Early finish Fridays: Option to finish at 1:00pm by accruing hours during the week.
* Additional flexibility: 5 additional “work from home” days per year.
* Pension: 4% employer / 4% employee contribution.
* Holidays: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
