Reception/Administration Staff Emergency Services

The successful candidate will need to be a highly motivated team player, who shows flexibility and careful attention to detail, providing patients with a high-quality service.

Part Time: 17.5 hours a week (night receptionist)

Shift pattern: This shift pattern consists of 7.5-hour shifts from 22:00 to 06:00, on a rolling rota of 4 days on, 8 days off. The schedule can be adjusted to meet the service demands, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and Bank Holidays. Flexibility to work all 22:00-06:00 shifts is required. Emergency Services include A/E and UTC. This role is mainly based in the Emergency Department, but flexibility for other areas within Emergency Services is necessary.

Informal visits to the unit are welcome, allowing you to meet us and see how care is delivered.

We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and highly organized individual with good IT skills and a flexible approach to join our team.

The duties include patient registration on our Cerner IT system (full training provided), along with admissions/discharges, scanning, appointment booking, and team collaboration to support Emergency Services.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals, and should greet them professionally and courteously.

Requirements: NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration or equivalent experience in a similar role. Proven experience in administration, frontline customer service, and the ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions are essential.

The ED operates 24/7, and flexible staff are needed to support various shift patterns as required.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential; sound administrative and IT skills, along with a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills, are necessary.
