Key Responsibilities
* Provide operational and professional leadership for custody healthcare and forensic medical services, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care.
* Lead service development, planning, and performance review in partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager for SARCS, the Service Manager and Forensic Medical Examiners.
* Drive service redesign and improvement projects, working collaboratively with Police Scotland and partner agencies.
* Ensure compliance with HIS Standards for Healthcare and Forensic Medical Services and contribute to national networks.
* Lead workforce planning, professional development, and advancement of nursing and medical practice.
* Act as an expert practitioner providing advice and support across custody and forensic settings.
About You
* Registered Nurse with significant custody post‑registration experience and leadership experience.
* Demonstrable experience of service development, redesign, and multi‑agency working.
* Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and evidence‑based practice.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
* Commitment to trauma‑informed, person‑centred, and inclusive care.

Additional Information for Candidates
* Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted on a pro‑rated basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
