A well-established and forward-thinking accountancy firm is looking for a Trust Tax Manager to join their growing tax team in Thame. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with high-value trust and estate clients, in a varied role offering both technical challenge and client interaction.
This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a qualified professional with solid UK trust tax experience, particularly within private client and estate planning work. The firm has a strong reputation in the agricultural and landed estates sector, and offers hybrid working (three days in the office, up to two from home) and flexible hours to suit your lifestyle.
What you will be doing:
Preparing annual tax returns and trust accounts for a portfolio of UK Trusts and Estates
Reviewing Inheritance Tax returns including on death, ten-year charges, and exit charges
Assisting partners with technical advisory work and client queries
Managing the Trust Registration Service (TRS) and maintaining accurate client records
Attending trustee meetings and liaising directly with clients and their advisers
Supporting the wider trust team on more complex or high-value cases
What you will need:
ACA or ACCA qualified with at least three years of post-qualified UK experience
Strong technical knowledge of UK trusts and estates
Experience preparing tax returns and accounts for trusts
Understanding of the tax implications of different trust structures
Familiarity with the agricultural or landed estates sector is highly desirable
Experience with CCH tax and accounts software would be advantageous
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Commercial awareness and sound judgement
Ability to manage a varied portfolio independently and meet deadlines
