Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. International Trade & Documentation
* Prepare and manage all transit documentation for machines and spare parts from origin to destination.
* Expertly review and prepare documents under Letters of Credit (LC) terms for export.
* Manage Duty and VAT payments for imports from China, ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Stay current on import declarations and transport regulations within the UK and Ireland.
2. Shipment Coordination & Monitoring
* Provide end-to-end monitoring of cargo (Import/Export/Local) and maintain real-time tracking reports.
* Liaise with the China export team, product lines, and logistics providers to optimize delivery timelines.
* Coordinate directly with shipping lines, ports, brokers, and haulage companies to ensure on-time delivery.
* Collaborate with the EU Logistics Team for cross-regional and intra-subsidiary movements.
3. Commercial & Compliance
* Negotiate shipping quotations with a focus on balancing cost-efficiency with service commitments under time-sensitive pressure.
* Ensure every shipment adheres to strict logistics compliance standards.
* Support emerging regulatory requirements, including Carbon Emission compliance and CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) reporting.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in import/export and heavy machinery transportation.
* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, or a related field.
* Highly organized with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email communication.
* Fluent in English communication.
