We are looking for an enthusiastic and industry-informed Lecturer in Digital Media (Maternity Cover) to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across our range of Creative Industries media programmes, primarily at Levels 1–3, with flexibility to support delivery across related courses as required. The successful candidate will provide strong tutorial support and contribute to learner progress, retention and destinations, including confidently teaching and supporting learners with EHCPs and more complex needs by implementing agreed strategies and reasonable adjustments, and working closely with learning support/pastoral colleagues and EHCP processes to ensure learners can access the curriculum and succeed. You will join us on a part time (18.5 hours), full year basis and in return will receive a salary of between £14,831 - £21,831 per annum, equivalent to a full-time salary of £29,662 - £43,662 per annum, plus staff benefits. Please note that this position is maternity cover so is fixed term until July 2027 (or until the postholder returns). About the role: Cambridge Regional College, Cambridge Campus - Kings Hedges Rd, Milton, Cambridge CB4 2QT To primarily teach in the department of Creative Industries, Digital Media, TV, Film and VFX. Levels 1-3. May also be required to teach on other programmes at levels 1- 5 as the department grows and develops in line with market needs. To deliver an expansive and exploratory programme in Creative Digital Media. Must be able to embrace contemporary digital practices/skills as well as traditional techniques. Also embracing safeguarding, equality and diversity, sustainability, English and Maths subjects. To be able to provide focussed tutorial support and progression advice for learners. Reporting to the Assistant Head of Department for Media What we are looking for in our role: We are looking for a committed, creative and inclusive Digital Media practitioner who is passionate about supporting young people to develop their skills, confidence and progression routes within the creative industries. You will bring current digital media practice and a willingness to teach across a multidisciplinary media curriculum, combining contemporary production approaches with strong core craft skills. You will be confident delivering engaging, industry‑relevant learning at Levels 1–3 (with potential to support higher levels as the curriculum develops). You will be learner‑centred and inclusive in your approach, with a clear understanding of how to adapt teaching, assessment and resources to support a diverse cohort. This includes experience of, or a strong commitment to, working with learners who have EHCPs and additional needs, and collaborating effectively with learning support and pastoral teams to ensure learners can access, engage and progress. We are particularly keen to appoint someone who: Creates calm, structured and motivating learning environments Values tutorial support, feedback and pastoral guidance as part of the teaching role Understands the importance of progression, retention and positive destinations Is organised, reliable and able to manage assessment and tracking requirements alongside creative delivery Enjoys working as part of a collaborative course team and contributing to curriculum development, recruitment and admissions activity Applicants should have a degree or substantial industry experience in a media‑related discipline, confidence with relevant industry tools and workflows, and either hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one with college support. This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable and professionally curious, and who wants to make a meaningful contribution during a key transition point for learners starting their creative journey in September. Working to professional expectations, meeting deadlines, and being a part of a team are also integral for the role. Regarding the disposition and approach, the candidate should be reliable with a keen interest in the subject area. Good organisational skills are a must. The candidate should be enthusiastic to work with young creative people to support the development of the next generation of creatives. There should be a keen interest to update and expand the range of skills to support the curriculum field. The role requires a commitment to promoting British Values, a "can do" attitude, and a willingness to proactively embrace change.
