Due to ongoing projects and growth, we are looking to recruit several Mechanical Technicians for our Site Services Team for working at Sizewell B (SZB) and overseas supporting the delivery of Outages.
The planned working pattern will be to carry out the following:
* Support the SZB Outage (scheduled for every 18 months for a 6-to-8-week period)
* Working in the SZB Maintenance Department
* Work on overseas outages in Finland, South Africa, Brazil and the USA.
Responsibilities
* Work from detailed engineering drawings
* Adhere to procedures, relevant quality procedures and assist with quality records and documentation
* Maintain equipment and small tools for assembly / calibration
QHSE responsibilities
* Never undertake work without first ensuring that means will be in place to guarantee that the work can be done in a safe and compliant manner.
* Be suitably familiar with the contents of the Risk Assessment and Method Statements and Permit to Work
* Attend any HSE training, meetings, etc. as requested.
* Attend & participate in Toolbox Talks.
* Ensure that tools, equipment and materials brought into and used in the area are fully checked and are compliant with HSE requirements.
* Ensure that no work is carried out unless supported by the relevant specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits.
* Ensure that all incidents and near misses are reported
Profile / Qualifications
To be considered, the following qualifications, skills and experience are required:
* NVQ Level 3 or above in relevant mechanical qualification (essential)
* City & Guilds Medium Confined Space Level 2 (desirable)
* NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision (desirable)
* Fundamental understanding of mechanical equipment installation methods.
* Experience with rotating & static equipment
* Experience in skillful, controlled manipulations of small objects & torquing techniques & processes
* Experience of testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning processes
* Read and understand detailed drawings
* Used to working in a construction, production and engineering environment
* Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations
* Team working ability
* Works calmly under pressure
