The Role:
The Process Analyst Apprentice role is an entry‑level apprenticeship designed to grow future process analysis capability within our IT Design team, with exposure to AI‑enabled transformation as part of the apprenticeship programme.
In this role, you’ll focus on understanding, analysing, and documenting business processes, working closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and development teams. The emphasis is on process analysis and documentation, not hands‑on solution building or software development.
You’ll be supported through structured apprenticeship learning alongside day‑to‑day work, developing the skills needed to gather requirements, map processes, and produce clear documentation that supports automation and digital solutions. This role is designed for learning on the job, with clear progression and development milestones.
We’re looking for someone with curiosity, strong communication skills, and logical thinking - not prior experience as a Process Analyst or Developer.
*This is an 18 month Apprenticeship opportunity, home-based (UK mainland only).
You must be able to commit to one dedicated self-study day per week, alongside attending two facilitated apprenticeship sessions each month.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Process Analyst Apprentice, your responsibilities will be around process understanding and documentation, including:
Analysing and documenting business processes, including capturing “as‑is” processes and contributing to “to‑be” designs
Producing clear and accurate documentation such as, process maps, process and design documentation for development teams and creating process maps using tools such as Microsoft Visio.
Working with customers and internal stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements.
Identifying opportunities for process improvement, efficiency, and automation.
Supporting solution design activities by providing well‑structured process information to development teams.
Learning and applying best practice in process analysis, documentation standards, and design principles .
Engaging positively with feedback and using it to improve the quality of work over a period of time.
*Note, this role does not involve building, configuring, or developing solutions.

Information‑gathering ability, including asking the right questions and capturing requirements clearly first time.
Problem‑solving and logical thinking, with an ability to explore requirements and potential solutions.
Attention to detail, particularly when producing documentation and process maps.
Openness to feedback, showing a willingness to learn, adapt, and improve.
A curious mindset and interest in understanding how processes, systems, and technology work together
An interest in process analysis, automation, AI, or digital transformation.
Desirable (but not essential):
Exposure to tools such as Microsoft Visio, Excel, or process mapping techniques
An interest in both business and technology, without the expectation of prior technical expertise.
*Full training and development support will be provided as part of the apprenticeship.
Minimum Criteria:
✅ To be eligible for this apprenticeship role, candidates must:
✅ Meet apprenticeship eligibility requirements, including not holding an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject
✅ Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above (or be willing to work towards Functional Skills if required)
✅ Have A‑Level qualifications (Level 3) or equivalent experience demonstrating readiness for a Level 4 apprenticeship
✅ Be motivated to learn and develop within a structured apprenticeship environment
