West Midlands/ contract / £12.50 - 14.00 per hour. £12.50 - £14.00 per hour plus sleep-ins as required based on a monthly rota with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts.
Role and environment
Residential Support Worker required in a children’s residential setting. The role is with a national provider with an excellent reputation for supporting young people who may have emotional difficulties, challenging behaviour and other needs. The setting adopts a child-centred approach and actively promotes children’s rights and ongoing therapeutic care. Management delivers their service in safe, personalised, small group care that promotes the children’s welfare.
Requirements
* Minimum one year working with children/young adults in the education or care sector (essential)
* Level 3 Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent (desirable)
* A full UK driving licence (desirable)
Responsibilities
* Residential Home can accommodate children up to 18 years of age. For this post, applicants must be 22 years of age or older (per Department for Education National Minimum Standards).
* For an RSW, no two days are the same. Examples include:
o helping cook the tea
o helping with homework
o playing football in the garden
o attending meetings
o addressing challenging behaviour
Additional information
The Residential Home can accommodate children up to 18 years of age. Due to the nature of this post, applicants must be 22 years of age or older. This is a rolling advert; applications are reviewed regularly. Interviews are convened on Thursdays and Fridays. If unsuccessful at shortlisting or interview, candidates may re-apply at a later time. The advert closes when all positions are filled.
