Working Hours
As an Operations Degree Apprentice, you will work a variety of shifts to gain full exposure to our 24/7 operation, including early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, and some weekends.
Shift patterns include:
* Early shifts (around 6am)
* Late shifts (up to 10pm)
* Night shifts (10pm – 6am)
This experience will develop your understanding of our parcel operation and you will be notified in advance of your schedule.
About the Apprenticeship
Over three years, you will learn about:
* Logistics & Supply Chain Operations: Parcel delivery network, tracking, optimizing flows, delivery routes, fleet management.
* Operational Management: Managing teams, KPIs, shift planning, resource allocation, contingency planning.
* Commercial & Financial Acumen: Cost analysis, budgeting, profitability, performance data analysis.
* Customer Service & Client Relationships: Handling B2B and B2C customers, complaints, tracking issues.
* Leadership & People Management: Managing teams, developing communication, leadership, conflict resolution skills, understanding employment law and safety.
* Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Adoption of new technology like route optimization, telematics, sorting systems.
