Role Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to enhance our mechanical engineering capabilities and bring fresh ideas to our projects over the next year.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation and analysis of mechanical options, ensuring alignment with client needs and project stakeholders, while mitigating risks and maintaining the Project Basis of Design.
* Perform design calculations for sizing mechanical, hydraulic, power generation, and building services equipment.
* Engage with supply chain partners to assess and understand the latest technologies during optioneering.
* Collaborate with the design team to develop 3D models and solutions.
* Oversee outputs such as P&IDs, data sheets, HAZID and HAZOP studies, and provide mechanical input into commissioning and performance testing plans.
* Support health and safety initiatives by producing safe designs compliant with CDM Regulations and standards.
* Identify opportunities to meet digital, sustainability, innovation, and people objectives.
Candidate Profile
To succeed, you should hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering and have extensive practical experience (ideally 8-10 years) in mechanical design within similar environments. You should have a proven track record in designing hydraulic and mechanical systems, with a good understanding of modular build and construction processes. Knowledge of electrical control, instrumentation, and switchgear is also important.
You will work collaboratively, understanding the impact of your actions on colleagues and customers. You should demonstrate accountability, integrity, teamwork, and a willingness to embrace new technologies and approaches to improve efficiency.
