Role
Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) is an exciting collaboration between Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Kent and builds on their existing high-quality clinical teaching and research strengths.
This role will involve providing excellent administrative and organisational support relating to the delivery of the applicant interviews. These interviews are known as Multi-Station Mini interviews (MMIs) and KMMS will interview nearly 500 candidates. In the lead up to the event normal office hours apply (09:00-17:00). The MMIs will take place over 5 days in December, working from Saturday 13th to Thursday 18th December 2025 (not including Sunday 14th December Working hours during this time will vary, starting from 07:00, finishing no later than 19:00. The job holder will be expected to offer flexibility in working hours to support the team, to be agreed with the line manager. The interviews are a complex event to deliver, and we want to ensure a friendly and calm atmosphere for candidates, assessors and supporting staff.
Duties and responsibilities
* Support the communications and events strategy for KMMS and the student recruitment and admissions process for the undergraduate taught programme in accordance with KMMS procedures, strategies and values.
* To ensure that we maintain the highest standards of fairness and clear communication to support our applicants through what can be a stressful process
* Support the work KMMS do to make our MMIs accessible and inclusive in order to support the recruitment of a diverse body of students
* Support the School's presence at Interview days to ensure that the days are efficiently organised, present the School in its best possible light and that the day is rewarding for applicants and their supporters.
* Liaise with current students for marketing purposes, working with other members of the professional services staff team where required, both to promote the MMIs and to gather information
* Provide general administrative support for marketing, publicity and recruitment within the School, working closely with other members of the professional services staff team to support the School's strategies.
Skills and experience
* A good general administrator, ideally with previous Kent or Christ Church experience
* Good Microsoft Office skills and a willingness to learn new digital programmes
* Excellent attention to detail and proof reading skills
* Ability to cope well with a fast-paced environment and changing priorities
* Good communications skills
* Events management experience essential
* Experience of using social media in a business context
* Experience of meeting organisation and minute taking as needed
Additional skills
* Basic graphic design skills
