🧩 About the School:
The school caters for children and young people aged [insert age range if known] with a wide range of complex needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Sensory and communication needs
Associated behavioural and medical needs
You'll be working alongside experienced SEN professionals, therapists, and specialist support staff to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
🎯 Key Responsibilities:
Support individual students or small groups, both in the classroom and in specialised learning areas
Follow and implement strategies from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Assist with personal care and mobility needs, where required
Promote independence, communication and emotional well-being
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
Support behaviour regulation using positive and consistent approaches
🙌 You'll Need:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a special school or similar setting
A calm, patient and flexible approach to meeting a range of complex needs
Confidence in using communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC devices) - training can be provided
Willingness to assist with personal care and manual handling (full training given)
(Desirable) Relevant training such as Team Teach, Manual Handling, or Moving & Handling certification
