Accountable for the strategic leadership, operational delivery and financial performance of five unique services within Corporate Nursing: Pan Lothian and Regional Supplementary Staffing Service (All disciplines); Pan Lothian eRostering Service; Interpretation & Translation (ITS) Services; Generic Recruitment (Pan Lothian for Nursing, Band 6 Midwifery, DN and HV staff through a generic process) and Staff Bank Recruitment Services (All disciplines).
Identify delivery outcomes ensuring that all services meet service and organisational demands, that resources are maximised and meet statutory and policy requirements contributing to the safe delivery of direct and indirect patient care in accordance with NHS Lothian’s agreed corporate objectives and Scottish Government national targets.
Provide expert leadership, knowledge and be accountable for the provision of all supplementary staffing across NHS Lothian and NHS Borders ensuring a cohesive approach to the supply of supplementary staffing meeting local and national targets. Provide expert advice to the Board and lead on the delivery and statutory compliance with national workforce planning, including influencing national policy.
Providing expert knowledge, interpret the prioritisation of local and national policy and strategy, working in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to overcome different approaches across Lothian. The General Manager will provide leadership and visibility and support planned and unplanned work streams associated with running Pan Lothian Services.
Lead on the strategic and operational management of the Generic Recruitment (Nursing) Service for NHS Lothian. Working collaboratively with Executive and Nurse Directors in order to deliver an effective substantive and sustainable nursing workforce.
