Are you ready to take a lead role in maintaining and supporting cutting-edge renewable energy technologies?
We are looking for a Lead Service Technician to support and service solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the UK. This role is hands-on, field-based, and ideal for a qualified electrician with leadership capabilities and a passion for sustainable solutions.
What You’ll Do
1. Deliver service, warranty, and maintenance support for solar PV and battery storage systems
2. Attend weekly planning meetings to coordinate upcoming workloads
3. Prepare for site visits by organising and securing tools, equipment, and stock
4. Ensure all vehicle loading, unloading, and transit paperwork is accurate and complete
5. Supervise subcontractors or team members on-site
6. Liaise with equipment manufacturers to confirm system commissioning and troubleshoot issues
7. Maintain accurate job records using mobile apps and request customer feedback
8. Ensure all worksites are left clean, safe, and to a high standard
9. Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding job status, issues, and updates
10. Assist with warehouse tasks and customer service when office-based
11. Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and promote safe working practices
12. Operate a company vehicle in compliance with UK driving laws
13. Work at height or in confined spaces as required
14. Participate in occupational health assessments and training programs
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
1. Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 2/3, C&G 2365 or equivalent)
2. Minimum of 3 years experience in electrical roles
3. Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
4. Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and mobile applications
5. Customer-focused with a courteous and professional attitude
6. Full UK driving licence with a good driving record
7. High awareness of risk assessment and Health & Safety protocols
8. Physically fit and capable of manual handling (training provided)
9. Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively
Desirable:
1. First Aid qualification
2. Experience in solar PV and battery energy storage systems
3. Confined space or working-at-height experience
4. Familiarity with mobile workforce platforms or field service tools
