Divisional Vice President (DVP), Business Unit Manager – MRO Europe

Role Overview

The DVP, Business Unit Manager – MRO Europe is responsible for the strategic direction, operating performance, and profit and loss of AMETEK’s European MRO business unit, comprising multiple third‑party MRO companies including AEM, Antavia, and Muirhead.

This leader will capitalise on operational and commercial synergies across the sites, while respecting individual brand identities, to create a cohesive strategy that drives revenue growth, market expansion, operational excellence, and increased profitability.

Reporting into senior divisional leadership, this role carries succession potential for the VP & General Manager, MRO Division and is suited to a proven, hands‑on leader capable of scaling a complex, multi‑site aerospace MRO operation.

Key Accountabilities

Business Leadership & Financial Ownership

1. Full P&L responsibility for an $80–90M European MRO business unit
2. Delivery of: 7–10% year‑on‑year revenue growth 10–15% bottom‑line growth Sustained EBITDA performance of 15%+
3. Establish accountability and performance discipline across all sites and leadership teams
4. Personally present annual plans, strategy, and performance updates to senior leadership

Strategy & Growth Execution

5. Develop and execute the Business Unit Strategic Plan, aligned to AMETEK’s four‑pronged growth strategy: Operational Excellence Strategic Acquisitions & Alliances Global & Market Expansion New Product & Capability Development
6. Provide long‑term vision while translating strategy into executable annual budgets and action plans
7. Identify and drive organic growth opportunities and cross‑selling across European sites
8. Support and lead acquisition identification, evaluation, due diligence and integration

Customer, Sales & Market Expansion

9. Proactively engage key customers and develop strategic partnerships
10. Work closely with regional and national sales teams using a hands‑on, customer‑facing approach
11. Leverage deep knowledge of the third‑party MRO market to increase customer base and market share
12. Evaluate and refine sales structures, incentive plans, and go‑to‑market strategies to drive top‑line growth

Product Development & Engineering Capability

13. Accelerate New Product Introduction (NPI) / New Product Development (NPD) across all sites
14. Prioritise new repairs and services that: Lower cost Improve margins Deliver value for customers
15. Improve speed and effectiveness of NPI implementation into operational workflows
16. Ensure engineering and operational talent is sufficient; upgrade capability where required
17. Leverage AMETEK India engineering resources to increase engineering productivity where applicable

Operational Excellence

18. Drive improved performance across: Turnaround time Working capital Customer satisfaction Productivity and margin
19. Deploy Lean, visual management, and structured action planning across all sites
20. Create consistency and best‑practice adoption in MRO processes, sourcing, and customer fulfilment
21. Maintain relentless focus on execution, accountability, and continuous improvement

Organisational Synergies & Culture

22. Lead coordination and strategic alignment across all European MRO sites
23. Develop a shared operating mindset focused on: Best practices Accountability Continuous improvement Ownership of results
24. Champion a culture that encourages innovation, creativity, and progressive thinking
25. Drive measurable improvements in leadership effectiveness, operational discipline, and employee engagement

Talent & Succession Management

26. Build a strong leadership bench across operations, sales, engineering, and support functions
27. Ensure robust succession planning for all critical roles
28. Assess, upgrade, and develop talent to meet the current and future demands of the business
29. Lead organisational design to ensure clarity of roles, accountability, and alignment

Financial Management & Governance

30. Maintain rigorous financial control including: Sales and EBITDA management Cash flow and working capital Inventory control Cost management
31. Participate fully in AMETEK financial reporting rhythms (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
32. Develop financially sound growth proposals spanning: New products and capabilities Acquisitions Strategic partnerships Business model evolution

Performance Evaluation Criteria

Success in this role will be measured by:

33. Sustained growth in sales, profit, and working capital performance
34. Improved operational and engineering capability, NPI effectiveness, and leadership bench strength
35. Demonstrated mastery of financial reporting with consistent margin improvement
36. Successful execution of annual strategic plans and growth initiatives
37. Increased customer satisfaction and portfolio diversification
38. Tangible cultural shift towards accountability, performance, and continuous improvement

Required Experience & Qualifications

Essential

39. Proven track record in general management / business unit leadership within aerospace MRO
40. Extensive third‑party MRO experience (sales/marketing exposure advantageous)
41. Multi‑site leadership experience
42. P&L ownership of businesses with $50M+ revenue, ideally in global operations
43. Strong financial acumen: sales, EBITDA, cash, inventory, budgeting
44. Demonstrated success leading organisational and operational transformation
45. Direct leadership of engineering and manufacturing operations
46. Proven ability to develop and execute profitable growth strategies

Preferred

47. Experience in publicly traded or highly performance‑driven organisations
48. Background including technical education and progressive leadership roles
49. Experience evaluating and executing acquisitions
50. Advanced strategic planning, market analysis, pricing, and go‑to‑market expertise

Education

51. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or technical discipline (required)
52. Master’s Degree or MBA (strongly preferred)
