A look into the role

Reporting to the IT Controller, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface with assigned business units or functional areas for the purpose of business technology strategy development, solution delivery, service management, risk management and relationship management.

The IT Business Partner will serve proactively as a “trusted advisor” working in partnership with stakeholders across the business units and will operate as the key business contact representing IT.

Joining us as an IS Business Partner, you will: 

• Facilitate project execution and promote project management best practice.
• Assist key stakeholders with business process and strategic systems review.
• Ensure IT service continuity management for designated business units.
• Engage with and build positive relationships with internal business units, establishing and maintaining practices that maximise the benefit from ICT services and systems.
• Develop and maintain a strong professional presence with business managers.
• Take responsibility for the development of designated business units’ strategic roadmap.
• Undertake business process analysis and documentation and facilitate reviews and improvements.
• Maximise departmental use of business intelligence and analytics.
• Assist with the tactical planning for major system implementations.
• Regularly review and update departmental IT high availability and disaster recovery plans.
• Increase customer awareness of system continuity actions and responsibilities.


Skills for Success  

The minimum criteria you’ll need is:
• Minimum 2 years’ Business Partner or Project Manager experience.
• Practical experience of managing third party software vendors.
• Experience in software vendor procurement and contract management.
• Experience setting and tracking annual budgets.
• Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
• A thorough and structured approach.
• Ability to challenge existing ways of working and propose practical solutions.


It is desirable if you have:
• Knowledge of IT project delivery methods, i.e. Agile, Waterfall
• Project management qualification
• Project management experience

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available. (Must reside within daily commuting distance)
