We are seeking a commercially astute and technically strong Group Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a dynamic, medium-sized technology, consulting and resourcing business. The role is ideal for a qualified Audit Manager (Big 4) looking to make their first move into industry, or an experienced Financial Controller from a technology services organisation, offering exposure to both operational finance and strategic decision-making in a fast paced, PE-backed environment. This hybrid role involves working 2-3 days per week from our Birmingham offices, located at Fort Dunlop, Fort Parkway.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the month-end close process and preparation of management accounts across all entities
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Lead and develop the finance team across the TXP Group, driving best practice and high performance.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
* Manage external audits and liaise with auditors and advisors
* Support the CFO with investor reporting and board packs
* Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting
* Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and support decision-making
* Oversee tax, treasury, and statutory reporting requirements
* Support the business with M&A requirements due diligence and integration
Skills & Experience:
* Experience ACA/ACCA qualified, ideally from a Big 4 or Top 10 firm
* Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/IFRS). International experience would be an advantage
* Experience with audit, controls, and financial reporting
* Commercial mindset with an interest in business operations
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
* Attention to Detail: Precision in financial reporting and compliance. Ability to identify anomalies and ensure data accuracy.
* Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and financial insight. Ability to interpret data and support strategic decisions.
* Communication Skills: Clear and confident communicator with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Capable of presenting financial information to senior leadership and investors.
