A typical day in the life of a Kitchen Porter:
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the kitchen.
* Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules as set by the Head Chef.
* Clean and maintain kitchen utensils, equipment, crockery, and cookware to a high standard.
* Use cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and in accordance with guidelines.
* Promptly report any equipment faults or maintenance issues to the Head Chef. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
* Support the wider team by assisting in other departments during busy periods, as required.
* Demonstrate flexibility and a positive approach to teamwork and changing business needs.
What we are looking for:
* Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
* Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards.
* Solid understanding of health and safety practices, including COSHH.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail.
* A team player with a flexible and positive attitude.
* Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
* Willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
