Overview
This role is all about giving everyone a warm and well‑informed welcome as they arrive in a busy National Trust car park. The Car Park Assistant greets visitors, provides information about the layout and services, sells parking tickets if necessary, and ensures the car park and surrounding area remain neat and tidy. The position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
* Provide a friendly welcome and offer practical information to first‑time visitors.
* Assist visitors in locating parking spaces and navigate them through the car park.
* Sell parking tickets and handle cash transactions accurately.
* Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the car park and its surroundings.
* Answer visitor questions and provide information about the National Trust’s projects and causes.
* Promote local projects and the Trust’s work to raise awareness of the money’s impact.
* Ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all visitors.
Qualifications
* Focused on delivering great service to everyone you meet.
* Team‑player who can also work independently.
* Well‑organised and adaptable.
* Willing to learn new skills.
Working conditions
Salary: £12.75 per hour. Contract: Seasonal, flexibly scheduled, primarily weekends and bank holidays, typically 16 hours a week over a three‑month fixed‑term period. This is a zero‑hour contract with no guaranteed hours each week.
