About the Role
You will drive the expansion of high-value export opportunities for New South Wales (NSW) businesses in the dynamic UK market. As our Associate Director, Trade & Investment, you will identify emerging trends, connect NSW exporters with key UK buyers, and coordinate strategic initiatives that deliver tangible commercial results. Your expertise will directly contribute to increasing NSW's market share in Agrifood, Health & Technology sectors across the UK & Europe.
You will join our Trade & Investment Team within the Investment NSW Group of the NSW Premier's Department, working with a dedicated team of professionals focused on international market development and export growth.

We're Looking For
* Strategic Market Intelligence: Experience conducting in-depth market research and analysis. Ability to leverage this across the Agrifood, Health & Technology sectors to identify export opportunities for NSW companies.
* Network Development & Engagement: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including businesses, government representatives, and industry associations.
* Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of international trade dynamics with specific knowledge of the UK & European markets, ideally with experience in a trade organization or national body focused on export promotion.
* Event Management & Coordination: Experience planning and implementing business-matching activities including trade exhibitions, buyer missions, and strategic market visits.
* Cross-Cultural Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively work across different cultural contexts and represent NSW interests professionally.

Contract Terms: Temporary 3-year contract and no relocation allowance or packages available. Applicants will need sufficient working rights to work in the UK for the duration of the contract period without employer sponsorship.
