Salary: Grade 6 – £28,142 – £31,022 pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only, 49.6 weeks per annum
Basis: Open Ended
Grade 6 – £28,142 for 37 hours per week term time only for 49.6 weeks per annum equating to £26,771.06 pro rata rising to 49.7 weeks, £29,570.26 pro rata per annum after 5 years service.
Haverfordwest High VC School is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safeguarding and Family Engagement Officer to join our committed team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality pastoral care in the School, liaising with relevant pastoral staff including the Designated Safeguarding Team, Achievement Leaders, and Pastoral Assistants as well as external agencies and assist with all aspects of safeguarding across the school.
Responsibilities:
* Provide social inclusion support to pupils and families experiencing difficulties.
* Support and enhance community education programmes at the school and enable the school to meet its statutory duty to secure access and attendance at school and improve punctuality.
* Work in partnership with families, parents, carers, pupils and staff to tackle underachievement, enabling particularly disadvantaged pupils to have full access to educational opportunities and overcome barriers to learning and participation.
Qualifications and experience:
Preferred: Welsh language skills desirable. Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than applications submitted in English.

Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with staff and external agencies, and a commitment to child protection and family engagement.
