Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk based on Sandringham Ward within the Surgical Division. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, patients and other staff, and will provide a comprehensive range of clerical functions to support the ward team in delivering a high-quality service to patients. You should be highly motivated, flexible, with attention to detail. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary ward team across departments, liaising with clinical staff in other trusts, patients' families and other third parties such as police and social services. You will predominantly use NHS IT systems, including the Trust patient information system. Admin & Clerical staff may be required to act as Loggists for a major incident. All staff should be computer literate as we become more digitally mature.


Responsibilities

* Be the first point of contact for visitors, patients and other staff.
* Provide a comprehensive range of clerical functions to support the ward team.
* Liaise with staff, patients, relatives and third parties including police, social services and clinical staff in other Trusts.
* Use NHS IT systems, including the Trust patient information system.
* Act as a Loggist for major incidents when required.
* Support the ward team across departments and other clinical areas within the Trust.


Qualifications and Skills

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Highly motivated, flexible, with attention to detail.
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
* Computer literacy and ability to work with NHS IT systems.
* Experience in a clerical/administrative role is preferred.
