An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Application Services Team as a Senior Application Support Analyst, within the Digital & Information Department at NHS Fife.
Application Support is a key function within the digital portfolio and this role is responsible for providing high-level technical support for business-critical applications, ensuring optimal performance, availability and continuous improvement. The post holder will also be expected to collaborate with various other teams within Digital & Information and beyond to assist with the implementation of new applications and services, and to support clinical and non-clinical users throughout NHS Fife.
What we are looking for:
You should have previous application support experience and should ideally have knowledge/experience of the healthcare environment and of supporting various clinical applications. The post requires education to HNC level or higher, or equivalent experience, which should include the following:
You will be a team player with excellent work ethic and analytical and problem-solving skills A level of English language competency and communication skills is necessary to perform this role safely and effectively.
Act as the primary escalation point for advanced application issues across various platforms.
Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve application incidents and service requests, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Perform root cause analysis and assist to provide long-term solutions to recurring issues.
Collaborate with the development arm of the Application Service Team, as well as Infrastructure, Network and Endpoint teams and 3rd party vendors to implement fixes and enhancements.
Lead application upgrades, patches and configuration changes in coordination with relevant teams.
Maintain and improve documentation for application support processes, known errors and user guides.
Support change management and release processes, including testing and deployment, with an understanding of ITIL processes.
Provide mentorship and guidance to less senior members of the team to ensure best practice is followed.
You must be able to travel throughout Fife as required.
