The role:
The Staff Bank post holder will deliver sessions on behalf of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s Quit Your Way service and will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of smoking cessation services across community, maternity, acute and mental health settings.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
We require Staff Bank members to fill primarily day-time sessions. Shifts may vary and are not guaranteed. Shift length may be between 2 and 7.5 hours, depending on service needs.
Key responsibilities:
* Deliver intensive smoking cessation support across Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s Quit Your Way Services
* Provide structured behavioural support on a one-to-one, telephone/virtual, and group basis
* Offer expert advice and guidance on quitting smoking
* Recommend and support use of pharmacotherapy, including Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)
* Work collaboratively as part of the Staff Bank team
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential Requirements:
* Health-related degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience
* Recent experience delivering support within a health improvement field
* Knowledge of tobacco-related issues and wider health improvement topics
Desirable:
* Experience delivering health behaviour change interventions
* Smoking Cessation and other relevant training will be provided

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
