Overview
The Neurodiversity Team is a multidisciplinary team that includes (but is not limited to) parents, speech and language therapists (SLT), occupational therapists (OT), paediatricians, clinical psychologists, administrators, the voluntary sector, and educators.
The successful candidate will work as an Occupational Therapist in the Neurodiversity Enfield team for children 0-6. This is a multidisciplinary team designed to improve assessment waiting times while also providing needs-led, family-centred support for children under six with neurodivergent learning needs. This includes psychoeducation on Neurodiversity and areas of need such as toileting, behaviour, and sleep.
Responsibilities
* Assessing and supporting children, young people, and families (CYPF) with neurodivergent learning needs.
* Providing second opinions, offering specialist advice, and developing and delivering training for families and external services, such as healthcare providers and community partners.
* Working effectively within an interdisciplinary framework and collaborating with professionals across community providers, SLT, psychologists, dieticians, paediatricians, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals, as well as Experts by Experience (parents of neurodivergent children).
* Fostering strong relationships and facilitating communication between the Neurodiversity Team and the OT Community Team to optimise service delivery.
* Participating in service improvement initiatives and contributing to quality enhancement efforts within the team.
