An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Registered Nurse or Social Worker with a desire to optimize patient flow and discharge pathways across the region, working closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues. The successful candidate must display a considerable degree of initiative and possess mature judgment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, professional, operational, effective leadership and managerial support within the Single Point of Access and Patient Flow Service, supported by the Service Manager. They will deputize for the Service Manager when necessary, ensuring seamless service delivery across specialties, optimal bed capacity, and resource deployment to meet patient flow challenges.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside six NHS Trusts across the East of England. Responsibilities include reviewing and processing requests for CAMHS, Adult Eating Disorders, and Secure inpatient admissions, managing bed resources across the EoE provider collaborative, and providing clinical advice regarding admission processes. The post involves negotiating placements, making bed allocation decisions, and supporting discharge, transfer, and contingency planning across services.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license or access to a car (unless disabled as per the DDA). The role requires undergoing a Disclosure and Barring check. The service values dignity and respect and encourages applications from all community sectors.
Key duties include liaising with services to facilitate resource organization, developing repatriation plans, managing complex cases, supporting audits, and providing clinical supervision to junior staff. The role involves engaging in quality improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
* RN with mental health experience or DipsSW, CQSW, or OT qualification
* Relevant degree or equivalent post-qualification training
* Management qualification or equivalent experience to master’s level
* Evidence of professional registration

* Approved Mental Health Professional
* 3+ years senior level experience (Band 7)
* Strong leadership and motivational skills
* High clinical expertise
* Organizational skills and team leadership
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and practice
* Experience with care planning, multidisciplinary collaboration, and health/social care budgets
* Experience in mental health settings, discharge planning, and clinical governance
