Electrical Design Engineer (Intermediate to Senior) – Building Services | Hybrid – Birmingham, UK | £30,000–£60,000 DOE
About the Role
We are working with a forward-thinking building services consultancy that is leading the way in delivering innovative, low-carbon energy solutions across a diverse portfolio of UK projects. With a strong presence in the Midlands, this firm is seeking both Intermediate and Senior Electrical Design Engineers to join their dynamic and growing team.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Birmingham, with flexible working arrangements available.
Salary: £30,000 to £60,000 depending on experience.
As part of the electrical design team, you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering efficient, sustainable solutions within a collaborative MEP environment. Depending on your level, you'll be hands-on in design, project coordination, and client engagement, with senior engineers expected to take the lead on projects and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Design of electrical building services systems, including:
* Incoming supplies
* Low voltage (LV) distribution
* Containment and cable management
* Small power and data systems
* Lighting and emergency lighting
* Fire alarms and security systems
* Lightning protection
* Backup power solutions
* Coordination with internal MEP teams and external stakeholders
* Delivery of energy-efficient, client-focused design solutions
* Project management and leadership (senior level)
* Technical support and mentoring (senior level)
What We’re Looking For
* Strong knowledge of electrical building services design and engineering principles
* Experience in delivering electrical design for commercial and/or residential buildings
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills
* Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines (for senior roles)
* Degree-qualified in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
