Overview

The Abingdon Foundation is looking to appoint an engaging and experienced HR professional to join our friendly HR team in providing a high quality, professional and visible HR service across the Foundation. The Foundation comprises two schools: Abingdon School and Abingdon Prep School, as well as Abingdon School Enterprises.


Responsibilities

* The HR Advisor will play a lead role in administering and advising on pay, benefits and contract related matters, working closely with the Finance Department, as well as supporting employee relations processes and proactively working with managers and Heads of Department.
* Advise on and support the administration of staff sickness and absence, leavers/offboarding and maternity, paternity and shared parental leave.


Person specification / Qualifications

* We are looking for a flexible, positive and proactive team-player with excellent communication, administrative and IT skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues.
* Experience working in a generalist HR role, including an understanding of payroll, pensions and other staff benefits, is essential.
* It would be an advantage to have experience working in schools and an understanding of the regulatory requirements in education.
* Hold (or be working towards) a CIPD Level 5 or above or an equivalent qualification, but these are not essential. It is more important that you have the right skills and personal attributes for the role.
