About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Canteen Manager to lead our dynamic canteen services team at Macphie. In this key role, you will oversee the daily operations of our staff canteen, ensuring a high standard of food quality, customer service, and hygiene compliance. You will develop and implement menu offerings, manage staff, and foster a welcoming atmosphere for our employees and guests.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the canteen, including staff management, budgeting, and menu planning
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
Lead and motivate the canteen team to provide exceptional service and quality food
Develop creative and appealing menus that cater to a diverse workforce
Monitor inventory levels and manage ordering to ensure optimal stock availability
Engage with staff to gather feedback and continuously improve the dining experience
Conduct training and development sessions for team members
Assist with any catering events and special functions as required

Requirements

Proven experience in a supervisory / management role within the catering or hospitality sector
Strong leadership and team management skills
Extensive knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to create and implement effective menu plans
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Proficient in budgeting and financial management within a catering setting
Experience with inventory management and supplier negotiations
A passion for food and a commitment to enhancing the employee dining experience
