Electrical Contracting Parts Technician
Location: Various client sites
Hours: Part-time (exact hours to be agreed)
Salary: £27k-£32k depending on experience (based on a FTE and will be adjusted to reflect the hours agreed for the role)
Role Overview
As an electrical contracting parts technician working with CC Electrics, you'll be responsible for quoting, ordering, warehousing, delivering, and managing the inventory of parts needed by our engineers on client sites. Your people skills are just as important as your technical skills. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with and helping others, and who wants to be part of a growing business.
Requirements of the role
Skills:
* Understanding of parts, equipment, and their functions
Communication Skills:
* Ability to interact with the internal team (engineers and operations manager) and provide assistance
* Engage with customers on client sites
* Communicate effectively via email, WhatsApp, in person, and phone
Management Skills:
* Manage stock, track inventory, and order parts effectively
Additional Skills:
* Organise parts, maintain records, and follow procedures
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Follow instructions and processes
* Identify and resolve issues related to parts and inventory
Experience working in an electrical contracting company or electrical wholesaler is preferred. Familiarity with Big Change or other CRM systems would be an advantage. A current driving license is required.
Role Responsibilities
Management:
* Maintain stock, order new parts, and keep accurate records
* Handle returns or faulty parts
* Check engineers' vans to ensure they are stocked with standard equipment and parts
* Conduct regular stock takes to maintain appropriate inventory levels
Service:
* Assist engineers and customers with parts identification, sales, and technical advice
* Liaise with the office team regarding parts requests
* Support estimation processes for quotes involving parts
Processing:
* Receive and process orders, coordinate deliveries
* Report on purchase statuses and manage customer expectations
* Document orders and checklists
Parts Identification & Technical Knowledge:
* Identify and catalog parts using specialised software and catalogs
* Understand technical aspects of parts for advice and cost-effective alternatives
Warehousing:
* Store, handle, and organise parts in storage facilities
* Use online tools for activity tracking
