Vets4Pets Fort Kinnaird are hiring!

Role: Pet Health Advisor (PHA) – a fresh, modern way of managing the client journey in our clinic.

Location: Vets4Pets Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh

The essentials

Hours: 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
Typically this looks like:

1. 3 full days per week 8.30am–7pm (days vary on the rota)
2. 1 in 3 weekends (shorter hours) Saturday 9–6 Sunday 10–4 Flexibility, rota changes and absence cover are part of the role. Overtime: expected

Pay: Starting salary £12.21/hr, with increases after training and with performance.

You’ll need:

3. Experience in client-facing roles (essential)
4. A professional appearance
5. Confidence with computers, emails, software and digital comms

Why this role exists

This isn’t a standard reception job.

Our PHA role is designed to create a gold-standard client experience in a fast-paced clinical environment. You are the calm, capable, friendly link between the pet owner and the clinical team—helping clients feel informed, supported and genuinely cared for.

8. Has an excellent telephone manner
9. Enjoys problem-solving and finds satisfaction in getting things right
10. Likes improving how a service works—not just doing the same thing forever
11. Can move quickly between priorities without losing quality

You care deeply about the client experience, but you also understand that great care needs great systems behind it.

What a typical day looks like

Your day will be varied, lively and purposeful.

You’ll work across two key areas:

1) Front-of-clinic client care

You will:

12. Welcome clients and pets
13. Answer questions clearly and confidently
14. Register new clients
15. Support existing clients with everything they need
16. Bring a smart, positive, reassuring presence to the front of house

This part of the role needs a friendly, polished, proactive version of you.

2) Telephony + digital client support

You will:

17. Handle calls and digital communications
18. Troubleshoot client queries
19. Liaise closely with the clinical team
20. Keep things organised, efficient and well-documented

This part of the role needs your structure, momentum and excellent communication.
You’ll also support:

21. Admin tasks
22. Team projects
23. Process development
24. Day-to-day clinic teamwork

Full training and ongoing support are provided on the job.

This role would suit

25. Someone from the veterinary sector who wants to build a career on the client-care side
26. Someone from a fast-paced customer environment (health, hospitality, retail, service) who wants something more meaningful and progressive
27. A people-person who also loves animals and enjoys building trust during difficult moments
