Overview
An exciting opportunity for a grower to lead a new field‑scale growing operation and develop a great business within the organic growing community in Cornwall. Tresemple is a mixed organic farm, with 20 acres of organic vegetables on a rotation.
Responsibilities
* Managing wholesale and local sales of crops, communicating with customers
* Directing harvest teams and harvesting
* Managing the pack shed and packing
* Admin and invoicing
* Timetabling the seasonal harvest workforce
* Working closely with the farm manager to manage the growth and sale of the vegetables
Essential Skills
* Minimum 1 year commercial horticultural experience
* Experience working outdoors in all weather, good dexterity and speed
* Highly organised, good record keeping
* Comfortable with supervising and managing work teams
* Resilient, hardy and a team player
Desirable Skills
* Field scale organic veg experience, managing tractors, planters and weeders.
* Crop planning experience
Permanent Role Details
Permanent role, flexible hours ~ 25 a week, over 4 days, with more work available at peak harvesting times.
£12.21-£16.00 per hour depending on experience.
No accommodation included. Own transport necessary.
