Job Description
This is a guide to the work you will be required to undertake. It may be changed from time to time by the College to meet changing circumstances. The current date is June 2024.
Conditions of Service
The appointment is subject to the Conditions of Service for Business Support Staff. All successful applicants will undergo the following checks:
* Enhanced DBS
* 2 x References, including your current or most recent employer
* Qualification validation check
Salary
The salary range is from £22,074 to £22,865 per annum. Your starting salary depends on your qualifications and experience. Upon successful completion of your probation, your salary will increase annually within the salary band.
Hours of Work
37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Annual Leave
25 days plus 8 public holidays, plus 5 discretionary days. After 2 years of service, entitlement increases to 30 days. Leave of more than 3 consecutive weeks requires exceptional approval.
Pension Scheme
The College offers the Local Government Pension Scheme.
Probationary Period
6 months, including mandatory induction and training sessions on various topics. Failure to complete these will impact probation success.
First Aid & Fire Marshall
Staff with these responsibilities must undertake relevant training and stay up to date.
References
Two satisfactory references are required.
Location
The role is based in Worcester but may require work at other locations.
Qualification Validation
The College will verify essential qualifications with educational institutions.
Contractual Qualification Requirement
Funding for additional qualifications is subject to annual budget review; student loans are available.
Maths and English
Minimum Level 2 qualifications are required in both subjects. If not possessed, candidates must obtain them during employment.
Safeguarding
The College is committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff will undertake safeguarding training during probation.
Online Checks and DBS
Successful candidates will undergo online checks and a Disclosure & Barring Service check, with associated costs deducted from salary.
