Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) ready to take on a long-term cover role? A supportive and inclusive school in Horley is seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN TA to provide vital support to children with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team and make a positive difference while gaining valuable experience in a long-term position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide consistent one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) needs.
2. Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCo to implement personalised learning plans.
3. Help maintain a calm, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
4. Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs and promote engagement.
5. Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development in line with their academic progress.
What We Are Looking For:
6. Minimum 6 months’ experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role in a school setting.
7. Experience supporting children with additional needs in primary or secondary education.
8. Patient, flexible, and reliable with excellent communication skills.
9. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE or Level 2/3 TA are advantageous but not essential.
