As a Registrar, you’ll play an essential role within North Yorkshire’s Registration Service.
A statutory service delivered on behalf of the Registrar General and the General Register Office (GRO). Our work ensures the accurate, sensitive, and professional registration of life events across the county.
Based primarily in Selby, you will also provide routine cover at Malton Registration Office, with the flexibility to travel to other locations across North Yorkshire as service needs arise. For this reason, transport and adaptability are key.
This is a role with real purpose. You will:
* Register births, deaths, and still-births with accuracy, care, and compassion
* Conduct civil marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, both in-office and at our beautiful, approved venues
* Complete all legal preliminaries and post-ceremony documentation
* Take notices of marriage and civil partnership
* Support citizenship ceremonies and other non-statutory celebrations
You will join a friendly, supportive team, and full training will be provided. As your experience grows, you will also have opportunities to work toward a formal qualification.
Optional, paid weekend ceremonies allow you to tailor your working pattern while helping create unforgettable moments for couples and families.
