Main Purpose of the Role
As a Planning Surveyor based at our modern Manchester offices, you will be part of the Acquisition & Planning team. This technical SME role involves managing delivery activities related to securing planning rights necessary for Mitie projects, including MNO customer projects (upgrades, replacements, new sites), and specialist projects involving Solar PV and EV solutions. The role requires working across multiple client programmes, so teamwork and technical expertise in planning are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct site surveys and planning appraisals to facilitate project delivery.
* Prepare and manage planning applications through the entire process.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, providing expert planning advice and managing work activities with internal teams and suppliers.
* Perform research and analyses to identify trends affecting project progression.
* Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for new telecoms infrastructure.
* Work with local authorities, developers, and community stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements.
* Analyse network performance data to identify improvement areas.
* Prepare detailed planning reports and documentation.
* Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and policies.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
* Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
* Analyse market data and present findings to clients.
* Advise clients on construction regulations and legal matters.
* Assess impacts of economic, social, and environmental developments.
