We are looking for a confident kind person to join our strong team of receptionists and clerks in supporting the clinical team at our practice.
The practice is innovative and forward thinking and we need team members who are the same.
We need the successful candidate to be able work at any time between 8am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday. Rotas will be made, but flexibility to ensure sick and annual leave cover of colleagues is essential.
This role is advertised for 30 hours per week, but may consider full time at 37.5hrs
You need to be confident with IT and learning new skills, be polite and understanding with our patients and fit into our existing team well.
We have high expectations of work ethic and commitment to the practice and a flexibility in working hours to suit the needs of the practice and team.
Main duties of the job
Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately and signposting.
Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
Clinicallycode data on Systmone
Photocopydocumentation as required
Dataentry of new registrations and relevant patient information asrequired
Directrequests for information and take payments for other administrators.
Manageall queries as necessary in an efficient manner
Supportall clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Actionincoming emails and correspondence as necessary
Scanpatient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patientshealthcare records
Completeopening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
Be able to scan read and code patient documents into clinical records with accuracy and speed.
Assist in inviting patients to attend their health checks and long term condition reviews by both telephone and text messaging services.
Signpost patients to local services and alternative healthcare providers where appropriate.
Asrequired support the prescriptions team in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they areprocessed accurately and efficiently
Help monitor practice supplies
Support the team through colleague absences
Chaperone patients who request assistance during consultations.

Job responsibilities
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception dutiesand the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to,greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system,booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients asrequired, handling complaints and distressed or upset patients in a firm but supportive manner.
To act as the central point of contact for patients, thedistribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team,liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such assecondary care and community service providers.

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
