Role: Mechanical Engineer (On Call)
Location: Knottingley
Salary: £37,500 + Additional on call pay per call out
Hours: 3 weeks: 6AM – 2PM (standard shift); 1 week on-call: 10AM – 6PM

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure full compliance with company health and safety policies.
* Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, drivers, belts, pumps, and gearboxes.
* Experience with fault finding, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
* Familiarity with servo drives (desirable but not essential).
* Conduct routine servicing and urgent repairs on production machinery, plant, and equipment.
* Fault Find, diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
* Support new equipment installation and process improvements.
* Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance and repair work.
* Provide emergency mechanical assistance during on-call shifts.
About You
* Proven background in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and fault-finding techniques.
* Time-served apprenticeship or relevant mechanical engineering qualifications.
* Problem-solving mindset, teamwork and adaptability.
