Project Health and Safety Advisor (construction) - West Yorkshire based (M62 corridor major projects across Yorkshire and the North-West) - well-established main building contractor. £55k-£60kcar or car allowance (£5k) and excellent package, working for a respected company providing extensive training and development opportunities. Ensuring support for effective management of Health & Safety, responsibilities include:- • Compliance with HSE legislation and the health, safety and environmental requirements • Interface, communicate, liaise, and maintain effective relationships with Health, Safety and Environmental Management Team • Produce reports and identify remedial action, ensuring effective implementation • Ensure that Contractors employees, sub-contractors and suppliers all work in accordance with health, safety and environmental requirements • Monitor housekeeping standards across the Contract, identify and implement improvement activities • Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work • Audit the permit to work process to ensure that company standards are maintained • Provide COSHH assessments where required and ensure effectiveness of supply chain documentation • Ensure that PPE is being used in accordance with requirements • Ensure that health and safety signage and guards are in place and maintained • Monitor fire precautions to ensure compliance with standards • Ensure that all emergency procedures and requirements are in place and are effective • Ensure that the CDM Regulations are applied where necessary • Undertake periodic HSE inspections for compliance to legal standards • Support operational managers in the review of subcontractors RAMS Qualifications/experience required :- • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum essential requirement) / NEBOSH Construction certificate (desired) • Membership of a professional body (eg IOSH, IIRSM, APS) • Construction site-based health and safety experience (essential) • Experience of steel erection/construction, working at height, dealing with MEWPs (desired)
