About the Team and the Role
The Flood Risk Management Team delivers the Lead Local Flood Authority role for Warwickshire and sits within the wider Planning Delivery service area.
As Lead Local Flood Authority for Warwickshire, we work to reduce and mitigate flood risk to communities within Warwickshire. We do this through a range of duties including; working with communities to understand their flood risk; delivering capital projects; reviewing major planning applications; regulating Ordinary Watercourses; and carrying out flood investigations in a prioritised way.
As an intermediate role within the team, the post holder will be given the opportunity to work on tasks across the team to develop experience and an understanding of the breadth of responsibilities of an LLFA.
The post holder will provide support to others in the team and will have a good level of ICT skills to ensure that our team data sets, records, GIS maps, and reporting statistics are accurate and up to date.
Planning Delivery facilitates sustainable development across Warwickshire through regulatory and statutory activities. This includes the management and interpretation of historic and natural environment data to inform planning delivery, wider partnership support, scheme design, and delivering mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain within count-wide planning decisions. As lead Local Flood Authority, the team work to reduce and mitigate flood risk to communities within Warwickshire. As the County Planning Authority, the team process through to determination of all County Matter and Regulation 3 planning applications. Acting as the Highway Authority, the team provides highways advice to on all planning applications.
