About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to join the team based in Merseyside. This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the effective delivery of housing and roofing services, including repairs, maintenance, and tenant support.
The ideal candidate will bring strategic oversight, regulatory expertise, and people leadership to ensure exceptional service standards, compliance, and customer satisfaction across all operational areas.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery
* Lead, manage, and continually improve front-line services across housing management, repairs, and maintenance.
* Ensure all services meet internal KPIs, regulatory requirements, and the organisation’s strategic goals.
Customer Focus
* Champion a customer-centric culture throughout the organisation.
* Monitor service quality, respond to tenant feedback, and develop initiatives to improve satisfaction and engagement.
Strategic Planning & Growth
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, sector trends, and regulatory frameworks.
* Contribute to short, medium, and long-term business plans to support sustainable growth and service innovation.
Partnerships & Collaboration
* Build strong working relationships with external partners, including local authorities, health services, and community support organisations.
* Work collaboratively to deliver joined-up services and support for tenants.
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead and develop high-performing operational teams, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and alignment with organisational values.
* Oversee staff performance, training, and professional development.
Compliance, Safety & Asset Management
* Ensure all properties meet legal and regulatory standards for health and safety, including fire safety, gas, electrical, and other compliance areas.
* Oversee asset management and cyclical maintenance in line with best practices and cost-efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of housing construction and common defects.
* Proven experience in asset management and ensuring regulatory compliance across health & safety frameworks.
* Familiarity with the National Housing Federation (NHF) Schedule of Rates.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify external market trends and opportunities for business development.
* Demonstrable experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build partnerships across sectors.
