JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Valve Technician, your role is to ensure that the performance and availability of Control Valves are maintained at all times on site, executing all activities safely and efficiently according to work plans, safety management system requirements, and best working practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Experience (Essential):
* Extensive knowledge of working on Control Valves & associated ancillaries
* Knowledge of electronic and pneumatic transmitters and positioners
* Knowledge of Control Valve components and standards
Prime responsibilities and duties:
* Carry out planned maintenance according to the planned maintenance system
* Coordinate spare part requirements and optimize spares stock levels
* Perform unplanned maintenance as required
* Minimize downtime and contribute to achieving production targets
* Prepare technical reports
* Fault finding and rectification for rotating equipment
* Carry out emergency response duties as required by the Client
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications/Training:
* Recognized Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent training scheme
* NVQ/SVQ Level 3 certification in Mechanical Fitting/Mechanical Engineering
* Pass a Wood Skills Screening
* Pass a site-based pre-employment medical
* TMJI10 certification
* CCSNG Safety Passport

* Motivated and eager to contribute to continuous improvement at personal and team levels
* Adhere to SHE principles, demonstrating commitment to safety through language, behaviour, and actions, complying with Wood's lifesaving rules, and maintaining zero tolerance for unsafe acts
* Good verbal, written, and problem-solving skills
* Good IT skills, with ongoing development in the company's and/or client's CMMS
* Always work in the best interest of Wood, complying with the company's and/or client's Safety Management System (SMS)
