Production Team Leader Pay, Hours and Benefits
£30,160 - £33,280
4-day working week, rotating shifts, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week: 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm
Friday is available for overtime, but this is optional
This role is commutable from the following areas: Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Grantham, Loughborough
Production Team Leader Role Overview
A practical, hands-on leadership position overseeing fettling and assembly operations within a busy production environment. The role ensures components are completed to exacting quality standards and delivered on time to meet customer requirements.
The successful candidate will lead from the front, providing day-to-day supervision, support, and guidance to the team while driving productivity, maintaining high safety standards, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the department.
Production Team Leader Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in a production leadership or supervisory role, within a fabrication, fettling, or assembly environment
Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Strong practical knowledge of hand tools, grinders, deburring, and metal finishing processes
High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality standards
Effective communication and strong organisational skills
Able to perform under pressure and consistently meet production deadlines
Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices within a manufacturing environment
Production Team Leader Key Responsibilities
Plan and allocate daily workloads, ensuring production targets and deadlines are consistently met
Perform fettling and finishing duties including deburring, grinding, polishing, and preparation of fabricated metal parts
Oversee and support assembly activities in line with engineering drawings and customer requirements
Carry out thorough inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards across all output
Provide hands-on supervision, coaching, and development to team members to build capability and performance
Drive compliance with Health & Safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure accurate production records
