The Post

Are you an experienced leader in the shared services space? Would you relish helping ensure the role that NSS plays in delivering shared services is market leading? This post of Shared Services Manager will be expected to lead, manage, develop, improve performance and service delivery of NSS Shared Services, own the Shared Services strategy on behalf of NSS and ensure services are delivered in line with agreed and continually improved performance standards (KPIs) to external customers in line with their organisational priorities.

The ideal candidate will provide a high quality, proactive and professional Shared Services offering to existing & potential customers of NSS by working collaboratively, focussing on benefits and gaining best value from service provision to promote and improve quality across NHS Scotland. They will manage the relationship between the Shared Services and customers ensuring performance and service issues are address appropriately. They will promote excellence in performance, customer service, customer experience and quality improvement.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader to deliver on the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives across the range of Shared Services that extend and enhance the NSS offering externally across NHS Scotland and beyond with the aim of becoming the Shared Services provider of choice.


The Candidate

You must be experienced in collaborative working and in developing effective and positive relationships with key stakeholders and providing a positive role model for partnership working and relationship management. You should have expert specialist knowledge in shared services acquired through relevant experience and will be educated to degree level with an appropriate, relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience.

You will bring demonstrable experience at a managerial level within a relevant health care setting and have proven skills in leading and motivating staff in the delivery of a high quality service. Coupled with this you will have significant experience of managing operational services – preferably at a national level.


Location and Working Pattern

This post will be based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow. Currently hybrid working. The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
