Purpose of Role
The Security Supervisor is responsible for protecting the Welsh Government estate and ensuring a safe, secure and professional environment for staff, visitors and service users. You will lead a team of Security Officers and maintain a high standard of service in line with VINCI Facilities’ values.
Job Description
You will oversee the day to day security operations across the site, supervising a team of Security Officers who cover gatehouse duties, x ray scanning, CCTV monitoring, internal and external patrols, and access control.
The position also involves supporting training and development to ensure consistent security standards across the team and maintaining strong operational procedures on site.
Responsibilities
•Provide leadership, guidance and support to Security Officers.
•Ensure all duties are carried out professionally and in accordance with procedures.
•Manage shift patterns, verify working hours and arrange emergency cover when required.
•Respond quickly and effectively to incidents, escalating where necessary.
•Conduct internal and external foot patrols.
•Oversee access and egress controls, gatehouse operations and key management.
•Operate and monitor CCTV systems and x ray screening equipment.
•Complete incident reports and maintain accurate security records.
•Support the training and development of security team members.
•Establish positive relationships with staff, clients, visitors and service users.
•Maintain strong knowledge of site layout, assignment instructions and emergency procedures.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
•Valid SIA frontline licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding).
•BS7858 5 year vetting.
•Ability to obtain Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) clearance.
•First Aid at Work – Level 3.
Desirable
•SIA CCTV licence.
•Previous experience supervising a security team.
•Ability to drive (due to limited public transport access from certain directions).
•Welsh language skills beneficial but not essential.
