Role Summary
This role sits within the Windows Endpoint team, building a product that provides industry leading protection to organisations of all sizes including Next Generation Anti-Virus Security, Analytics, and Remediation functionality.
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software components. You will work closely with senior engineers, support product delivery, and continually build your technical skills while learning best practices in software engineering.
What You Will Do
1. Contribute to the design and implementation of product features that align with technical strategy, quality standards, and functional requirements.
2. Develop full lifecycle code from development, testing, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements.
3. Participate in release planning, providing reliable estimations and delivering work that meets scope and quality expectations.
4. Engage in code reviews and other collaborative engineering practices.
5. Take part in daily standups, sprint ceremonies, and retrospective discussions.
6. Participate in security reviews of new development to help ensure compliance with Sophos security requirements and industry best practices.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as a first responder in the team.
What You Will Bring

8. Practical experience of developing code in C++
9. Working knowledge of Python or other scripting language
10. Experience of developing for Microsoft Windows platforms
11. Solid problem-solving skills and willingness to be autonomous and own their work, seeking support when needed
12. Effective communication and collaboration skills within a cross functional, Agile team
13. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience
