Offer description

Do you have experience of development work and a genuine interest in contributing to the improvement in our students’ sense of belonging, continuation and academic attainment? If so, and you excel in analysing information, writing reports and presenting information in a persuasive and concise manner, we would love to hear from you.

Student Success Development Officers provide specialist operational support to the Student Success Team, as part of the Student Life Directorate, contributing to the University’s Access & Participation Plan (APP) and broad Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda.

The role holder will lead and embed social and educational initiatives across academic schools, resulting in improvements to undergraduate students’ sense of belonging, continuation, completion and academic attainment, with a specific focus on improving outcomes for students from minoritised groups.

As Student Success Development Officer you can expect to be involved in:

* Developing, delivering and evaluating initiatives to promote a stronger sense of belonging, and to optimise engagement and academic outcomes for students across the university.
* Facilitating discussions on sensitive equality issues, such as race, discrimination and bias across the university in collaboration with staff in the Directorate and academic schools, to promote inclusive practices.
* Supporting the effective monitoring and evaluation of initiatives and making recommendations for development to achieve maximum impact.

What will you bring to the role?

* Educated to first degree or equivalent professional experience.
* Extensive experience of working in a similar role in a research and/or administrative capacity.
* Extensive experience of development work contributing to short and long term projects.
* Experience of analysing and collating data and competently summarising confidential and sensitive information.
